Hi, I’m Kate. I have started this blog to talk about my sewing projects. I love sewing, but with a full on job and two primary age children, I don’t sew very often.

BUT I have been asked to make a wedding dress for one of the most special people in my life. So, regular sewing is about to come back into my life in a big way.

And this is not just any wedding dress …. the inspiration for this dress is Dior’s Mexico evening dress. It is a stunning dress from 1953, made up in crêpe de Chine and printed silk organza, with boning in the bodice, and a net foundation. No pressure!

It is a daunting job but I am so thrilled and touched to have been asked to make such a special dress. I want to do a great job for her, so right now I am googling like mad to find patterns that could be tweaked to resemble something like the original. Wish me luck!
